University Health Network (UHN) is Canada's largest research and teaching hospital network, based in Toronto and affiliated with the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine, integrating advanced patient care, pioneering research, and medical education. Formed in 1999 from the merger of Toronto General Hospital (est. 1819), Toronto Western Hospital, and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, it now includes six sites like the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and West Park Healthcare Centre. Specializing in oncology, cardiology, neurosciences, transplantation, and rehabilitation, UHN serves over 1.2 million patients yearly via 1.1 million outpatient visits, 39,000 inpatients, and 120,000 emergency cases.
