Hermetic sealing is an airtight seal that keeps body fluids away from the implant's electronics.
Moisture would corrode the chip, so the seal has to last for years. A Neuralink patent published in June 2026 describes an enclosure made of PCTFE, a tough plastic pressed around the threads with heat to seal them in (Neura Pod).
