Motor cortex

The motor cortex is the strip of brain that plans and sends out the commands for voluntary movement.

Telepathy implants go into the part of the motor cortex that controls the hand and arm. After a spinal cord injury the motor cortex still fires when a person tries to move, so the implant can read the intention even though the message never reaches the muscles.
