Electrode coatings (PEDOT and iridium oxide)

PEDOT and iridium oxide are coatings applied to electrode contacts to improve how they record and stimulate.

PEDOT is a conductive plastic that lowers impedance for recording, and iridium oxide carries more charge for safe stimulation. Neuralink's 2019 white paper tested both on its threads.
