A spinal cord injury is damage to the spinal cord that cuts the signals between the brain and the body below the injury.
An injury in the neck can cause quadriplegia. Most Neuralink participants have a spinal cord injury, and the implant reads the brain's movement commands above the injury and sends them to a computer instead.
