Vasculature avoidance

Vasculature avoidance is the surgical robot's ability to steer threads around blood vessels on the brain's surface.

The R1 uses cameras and software to map surface vessels and choose insertion points between them, as described in Neuralink's 2019 white paper. Avoiding vessels lowers the risk of bleeding.
